Criminal law is very wide and covers not only substantive law (who is to be prosecuted, punished, for which deed and how) but also procedural rules (the rights and obligations of all the subjects in a criminal procedure from the beginning to the end).

Also the rules of the District Attorney Office (prosecutors office) are very important part of the procedure.

Criminal procedure is one of the essential protective elements of criminal law. Enforcement of criminal sanctions is an important part of criminal law, since it includes different social therapeutic workshops that provide opportunities to the persons that committed a crime to improve and prevent future criminal activities.

Enforcement of criminal law also deals with parole sentencing, less strict sentencing and reduction of penalties, alternatives to imprisonment etc.. Thus, the participation of a lawyer is advised even after a final judgment has been given by court.
